YAZOO CITY, Miss.–Some detainees at the Yazoo County Regional Correctional Facility apparently set a fire Monday evening.
A news release from the sheriff’s department said the fire was discovered shortly after 5:30.
The release said some items had been set on fire, but did not specify what they were.
Deputies from both Yazoo and Humphreys County responded and got the situation under control. It was unclear from the news release if any detainees would face charges associated with the fire.
