GREENVILLE, Miss.–Greenville may be purchasing more cameras for the police department.
Police Chief Marcus Turner told the city council Tuesday that they currently have between 20 and 30 cameras to monitor in areas where crime is a concern.
But, Turner said he is working on getting more.
“In actuality I’m working with the vice-mayor at this time about possibly looking into getting more for different areas that were not warranted under the last funding,” said Turner.
Most of the cameras that have been installed have gone in in the last year. Turner did not discuss their effectivity during Tuesday’s meeting.
