GREENVILLE, Miss. — Greenville police have arrested a woman in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Sunday at an apartment complex on North Broadway Street.
Officers were dispatched to 1724 North Broadway Street after receiving a report that a man had been shot in the chest, according to the Greenville Police Department.
Officers found an unresponsive man inside an apartment suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. They provided medical aid until paramedics with Pafford Ambulance Service arrived. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim was identified as Kaderrien Dorsey.
Investigators conducted interviews, collected evidence and followed leads. Police said a single gunshot had reportedly been heard in the area shortly before Dorsey was found.
Investigators identified Samantha Rape as a suspect. Rape was arrested and charged with one count of murder in connection with Dorsey’s death.
Rape is being held at the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility pending an initial court appearance.
