GREENVILLE, Miss. — Greenville police are investigating a shooting reported Tuesday evening at an Alon gas station on Highway 82 East.
Officers responded at about 5:39 p.m. Aug. 11 to the business at 2405 Highway 82 East after receiving reports of multiple shots fired and a possible person being struck by gunfire.
Officers did not find a gunshot victim at the scene.
During the preliminary investigation, police learned that a white man and a Black woman had been inside the store before the shooting. According to a witness, the man allegedly assaulted the woman as she walked past him.
The woman confronted the man and later followed him outside. Shortly after the two left the store, witnesses reported hearing about four gunshots.
Investigators found four spent shell casings in front of the business. The casings were collected and submitted as evidence.
Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a black Ford F-150 pickup truck that investigators believe may be connected to the shooting. Authorities are seeking information about the vehicle and its occupants.

Police ask the public not to approach or confront anyone believed to be connected to the incident and instead to provide information directly to law enforcement.
The investigation remains active. Police said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
