GREENWOOD, Miss.–An attorney from Greenwood has been named the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Texas, in charge of prosecuting federal crimes in that part of the state.
Abe McGlothin was born and raised in Greenwood and has been the First Assistant U.S. Attorney in that office since 2023.
Following the recent appointment he will now head that office, supervising more than 100 employees.
The Eastern District covers 43 counties in Texas.
