HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss.–A candidate for Alderman at Large in Holly Springs has been arrested. Thelbert Lesure has been charged with assaulting Wayne Jones, the head of the Holly Springs Utility Dept.
Lesure’s arrest was Feb. 8. Je denies any guilt in the matter.
WREG reports the confrontation was outside the Marshall County Courthouse, where Jones says Lesure threatened to slap him and kill him.
The complaint states that Lesure assured Jones that were he elected Alderman at Large, he would run Jones out of town and “euthanize him like a dog”.
Lesure is charged with misdemeanor simple assault.
