YAZOO CITY, Miss.–A man who was serving a one-year sentence for attempting to make meth was found dead at the Federal Correctional Institution in Yazoo City over the weekend.
FCI-Yazoo said Christopher Eric Shoemake, 58, was found unresponsive in his cell Saturday morning about 8:30 in the medium security section.
Corrections officers tried CPR and Shoemake was taken to the hospital, but did not make it.
He had been at FCI-Yazoo since Feb. 26. The FBI was notified of his death.
The prison news release said nothing about a cause or manner of death.
