OXFORD, Miss.–A Lafayette County man is due in court for the first time Tuesday to face a first degree murder charge in the Friday killing of Charles Cook, 58, who was found dead at a home in the county.
Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call at a home on Heights Dr., which is northwest of the the Oxford city limits, just before 11:30 p.m.
They found Cook dead, but have not discussed the manner and cause of death publicly.
Monday they announced the arrest of 76-year-old Charles Reifers, of Lafayette County. Tuesday’s court appearance is for his bond hearing.
Reifers appeared to have a severe black eye in his booking photo.
