GREENWOOD, Miss.–The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency now says more than 1,000 homes and businesses were damaged in Friday and Saturday’s tornadoes and severe storms, with the majority of those in the Delta.

Updated storm totals Thursday included 314 homes, 6 businesses, 1 farm, 1 public building damaged in Leflore County, which is the most of any county in Mississippi from the storms. An EF2 tornado is responsible for that. It tracked from south of Sidon, to the outskirts of Greenwood.

A list published Thursday also included damage to homes and businesses in Holmes, Humphreys and Carroll counties, which had not been included in damage assessments earlier in the week.

Seven people died in tornadoes in south Mississippi, in Walthall, Covington and Jefferson Davis counties, which experienced EF3 and EF4 tornadoes, the strongest in this weekend’s outbreak.
