OXFORD, Miss.–People from several counties were arrested in a drug bust headed up by the Lafayette County Metro Narcotics Unit and Lafayette County Sheriff’s Dept.
A news release said 42 search warrants were served with the help of the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, Panola County deputies, Yalobusha County deputies, Oxford Police, University Police, Water Valley Police and the Miss. Dept. of Corrections.
Charges mostly involved the possession and sale of cocaine and marijuana and THC products. But several people also face charges of possession and sale of meth, ecstacy and various other substances.
In addition, one man was charged with commercial burglary. Sylan and Debra Gillespie were charged with armed robbery and two people were charged with child sex crimes.
Kerriun Kinds was charged with touching of a child for lustful purposes, which is essentially child molestation. Joel Boyd was charged with two counts of rape or sexual battery of a child.
All were arrested on warrants.
