OLIVE BRANCH, Miss.–An Olive Branch Police officer died this weekend in an ATV wreck, said the police department in a news release Monday.
Lt. Ronnie Flanigan was known for going above and beyond the call of duty, according to the city. He started with the department in 2003 and was promoted to lieutenant in 2014.
The city did not provide any details on the wreck.
Flags will be at half staff on the date of his service, which is Thursday, April 24.
“Ken Adams, Olive Branch Mayor, Police Chief Bill Cox, the Board of Aldermen, and all team members of the City of Olive Branch, express our deepest condolences to Lt. Flanigan’s wife, Martha, during this difficult time. Our hearts also go out to Lt. Flanigan and Martha’s son and daughter, who also serve as first responders for the City. We respectfully ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers as well,” read the release.
