OXFORD, Miss.–A man in Oxford tried unsuccessfully to set three cars on fire, said police in court documents.
The incident went down on Eastover Dr., May 15, with police only now releasing arrest information. Officers were called when a man was reported trying to set cars on fire.
He was found to have put lighter fluid on three cars, with only one having actual burn damage.
Martel McEEwen, 34, of Oxford, was charged with both third and fourth degree arson.
