PACE, Miss. — A 35-year-old man was hospitalized after being shot multiple times early Tuesday in Bolivar County, authorities said.
Bolivar County deputies responded around 12:50 a.m. Tuesday to reports of shots fired near Highway 8 West and Oswalt Road near Pace, according to the Bolivar County Sheriff’s Office.
When deputies arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as Joequez Lambert, 35, of Pace.
Lambert was transported to Bolivar Medical Center before later being transferred to Regional One Health in Memphis for further treatment.
Authorities said the shooting remains under investigation.
