ITTA BENA, Miss. – A 30-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Monday morning in Washington County. The Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to the incident just after midnight on December 30, 2024, on Highway 82 in Itta Bena.
Authorities say a vehicle traveling west on the highway struck Janeshia Oneal, who was walking on the road. Oneal suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle involved in the crash fled the scene. The Mississippi Highway Patrol is now seeking the public’s help in locating the suspect vehicle, described as a black sedan with damage to the front passenger side.
