OXFORD, Miss.–The search for Jimmy “Jay” Lee is not over, says Oxford’s police chief. Jeff McCutcheon made that statement Thursday, following the mistrial declaration in the murder trial of Timothy Harrington, of Grenada.
“Our commitment, remains unshaken and our job is far from over,” said the chief.
“We have not stopped looking for Jay Lee since July 8, 2022, and we will not stop until we bring him home to his family. If you have any information that can help us locate Jay, please contact us.”
He also said the department remains committed to justice.
Attorneys for both sides and the judge are expected to meet soon to decide on a date for a new trial. Meanwhile, Harrington is free on bond.
