GREENVILLE, Miss.–You could see some strong to severe storms in the Delta Easter Sunday night and into Monday. But, the National Weather Service does not believe that will make flooding already happening on the Mississippi River much worse.
“With the rain that’s coming up Sunday and Monday and really throughout the next week we’re not forecasting the river to rebound up,” said a forecaster with the Weather Service, during their weekly weather briefing Thursday.
The rainfall potential for the next several days is only one inch.
But, the chance for storms includes hail and strong winds, with a 2 in 5 chance for most Delta counties.
“It doesn’t look very organized. It doesn’t look very widespread,” said that forecaster.
His advice was to keep a check on the National Weather Service social media for updates.
