CLARKSDALE, Miss.–Severe weather will be possible again in the Mississippi Delta as another storm system is likely to develop mid-week, according to the National Weather Service and the Storm Prediction Center.
“We’ll have an approaching cold front on Wednesday or thereabouts and this cold front will stall just to the northwest of our county warning area,” said Mike Edmunston, lead forecaster with the National Weather Service Jackson office.
He said that front will interact with moisture ahead of it to form a storm system.
“The conditions will be favorable for the potential for severe weather Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday evening and again Thursday afternoon into Thursday evening.”
The Delta has the best chance for strong storms and possible tornadoes. The chances lessen the further south into Mississippi.
Edmunston said that’s still a few days away and predictions could change between now and then.
