SOUTHAVEN, Miss.–A Mexican national who was last year arrested and charged in a child pornography case in Southaven, and who was set to be deported, is now facing more federal charges.

Adolfo Raul Vasquez-Santana, is now charged with using the internet to download and distribute images and videos of children younger than 13 engaged in sexual activity. Those are federal charges that could send him to prison from five to 20 years.

When he was arrested on the state charges, District Attorney Matthew Barton lobbied to have Velasquez Santana sent directly to Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, to a federal facility there used to hold terrorism suspects.
