Stolen Ambulance Crashes Into Southaven Hospital; Suspect Arrested in Tennessee

SOUTHAVEN, Miss.–The person who was driving an ambulance that crashed into the side of Baptist Health DeSoto Wednesday, has been arrested, announced Southaven Police.

Kandanice Stevenson is in custody in Shelby County, Tennessee, awaiting extradition back to Mississippi, to face numerous charges.

There were minor injuries when the crash happened Wednesday morning.

The ambulance is believed to have been stolen.

“We are aware of the vehicle collision at our hospital, and we are working with the Southaven Police Department to investigate the situation. Fortunately, none of our patients were injured in the incident, and one staff member sustained minor injuries,” read a statement from the hospital.
“The safety of our patients, staff and visitors is always our top priority, and that is our focus at this time. We are grateful for the quick response from Southaven’s emergency response teams and will continue to work with them on this situation.”
