COAHOMA COUNTY, Miss.–Two cars were wrecked and mangled high above the Mississippi River in an early Monday morning crash. The wreck was on the Mississippi River bridge that stretches from Coahoma County to Helena, Ark.
The Coahoma County Fire Dept. said in a news release that the wreck happened just before 6 a.m.
Pictures showed both cars smashed in what appeared to be a head-on collision. One person died in the wreck.
The wreck was ultimately determined to have been on the Arkansas side of the line. But, Coahoma County fire and rescue personnel helped out. The name of the person killed was not immediately released.
