QUITMAN COUNTY, Miss.–One person died in a house fire in Quitman County Sunday morning.
According to the Coahoma County Fire Dept., whose firefighters assisted Quitman County first responders, the fire happened about 3 a.m. They did not give an exact location.
Flames and smoke were coming from the roof when firefighters arrived and one person was located inside the home and later pronounced dead.
That person was not ID’d publicly Sunday.
Noth the state Fire Marshal’s Office and the Quitman County Sheriff’s Dept. are looking into the cause.
