GREENVILLE, Miss. — Two men were arrested Wednesday after Greenville police responding to a report of suspicious activity discovered what appeared to be freshly cut telecommunications wire in the bed of a pickup truck, according to the Greenville Police Department.
At approximately 5:23 a.m. Sept. 2, officers responded to the 1300 block of North Saint Mary’s Circle following a report of suspicious activity behind a residence.
Upon arrival, officers detected an odor of what appeared to be burning rubber and found burned debris behind the residence, police said.
While investigating, officers spotted a suspicious white Ford F-150 in the area of St. Joseph Circle. Officers stopped the vehicle and identified the occupants as Mickey Cannon and Clinton Robinson.
Police said officers observed what appeared to be freshly cut telecommunications wire in the truck bed, along with tools believed to have been used in the theft.
Investigators were contacted, and both men were taken into custody. The vehicle was towed to the Greenville Police Department for further processing.
Cannon faces charges of possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of burglary tools, possession of stolen property and grand larceny.
Robinson faces charges of possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools and grand larceny.
