GREENVILLE, Miss.–Rain was being reported about 5 a.m. in Greenville. It was snowing in Tunica and Clarksdale. Snow was expected to continue for several more hours in the north Delta, with the dividing line between snow and a wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain generally around Hwy. 82.
The difference in who was getting snow, versus rain, was generally with the temperature. It was 33 in  Greenville and right at or just under freezing in Tunica and Clarksdale, where snow was falling.
No major wrecks were reported in the early morning hours. But, you are being urged not to travel if at all possible in areas where any wintry precipitation was falling.
The forecast differs from central to north Mississippi, with the high Saturday reaching 35, making melting possible Saturday in the north Delta. Sunday the high will reach 40. In the central part of the state and in the south Delta, the high will reach the mid 40s Saturday and the mid 50s Sunday.
