GREENVILLE, Miss.–The flood warning for the Mississippi River at Greenville and for some areas north has been extended again, according to the National Weather Service.
The warning now extends through May 4, and the river is now expected to crest at Greenville at 54.8 ft., Sunday.
Flood stage is 48 ft.
Moderate flooding ls already occurring and is expected to continue, said the new alert that was issued Wednesday.
“At 55.0 feet, Practically all areas between levees are flooded. Approximately 50 buildings have water inside them. Water enters Farmers Grain terminal building north of the Greenville bridge. Electric power is turned off to north and south Lake Ferguson Road and Hillman-Logan Road,” read the alert.
