PHILADELPHIA, Miss.–If you voted in Tuesday’s runoff election for Mississippi Supreme Court District 1, Place 3, you should be aware the race is still too close to call.
State Sen. Jenifer Branning has a slight lead over incumbent Jim Kitchens, less than one percent.
But, election workers are off for the holiday and counting of absentee and affidavit ballots begins again Monday.
It was estimated by the Associated Press that 97 percent of the votes had been counted and that Branning’s lead is by about 1,200 votes.
