ROLLING FORK, Miss.–The lower Delta may be in for some strong storms and heavy rain the next few days, which could cause some flash flooding, said the National Weather Service, in a special briefing Monday afternoon.
The lower Delta is under a risk for 3 to 6 inches of rainfall from Tuesday evening through Thursday.
“Some roads may be closed, along with some structures flooding,” said a Weather Service meteorologist during the briefing.
In addition, storms may become severe Tuesday evening, with heavy rain, hail, strong winds and tornadoes possible. Though the tornado threat is not great, the possibility still exists.
