BELZONI, Miss.–Two men were arrested in a drug bust in Humphreys County, said the Humphreys County Sheriff’s Dept.
That was thanks to alert deputies during a Friday night checkpoint on Hwy. 49. Several deputies were called for backup once officers realized they had found drugs and possibly dealers.
During a search of the vehicle they found more than $3,000 in cash, including large bills down to small change.
They also found several baggies of what appeared to be weed, several more baggies that appeared to contain pills, at least two pistols, including one revolver and a semi-automatic, along with several magazines.
Deputies arrested the driver of the car, Kendrick Cortez Profit, and the passenger, Ladarius Williams.
“This case is another example of our deputies remaining vigilant in the fight against drug activity and working diligently to keep Humphreys County safe.” said Sheriff Bruce Williams.
