INDIANOLA, Miss.–A head-on crash on Hwy. 8 in Sunflower County is responsible for the deaths of three people and for two others being injured.
The wreck happened about 10:30 p.m., said the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
A Ford F-150 was traveling west in the eastbound lanes when it hit a Toyota Camry. All three people who died were in the truck. They were J.D. White, 68, his wife Renee, 59 and Sharon Sample, 53. All were from Cleveland.
One of the two people who were hurt was from Ruleville and was the driver of the Camry, John Ballard, 36. The other person hurt was another passenger in the pickup, Kenneth Coleman, of Cleveland.
It was unclear why the wreck happened and it remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
