LULA, Miss. — A residential fire broke out on Armstead Street in Lula Thursday afternoon, prompting a multi-agency response from local and volunteer fire departments. The Coahoma County Fire Department (CCFD) received the call around 4:20 p.m., dispatching Engine 1 and Engine 6 to the scene. Upon arrival, firefighters found a single-story home with heavy smoke and flames visible from the roof. Due to the intensity of the fire and limited local resources, the Tunica Volunteer Fire Department was called for mutual aid. Additional firefighters from Lyon, Lula, and Jonestown also responded. Firefighters worked for more than two hours to bring the blaze under control.
No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. The CCFD expressed gratitude to the Tunica Fire Department for their prompt assistance. “Their support was instrumental in containing the fire and preventing further damage,” the department said in a statement. The extent of the damage to the home has yet to be determined.
