GRENADA, Miss.–Drugs, guns and military ordinance were found at a house in Grenada County during a search last week, says the Grenada County Sheriff’s Dept.
The incident began with the Friday arrest of Thomas Arnold “Tab” Benson at Shurdenm Estates, on a domestic violence aggravated assault charge. Deputies say when they searched Benson, he had drugs on him. So, they got a warrant to search the house and that opened another can of worms.
Inside the house they found more drugs, including meth and marijuana. But, they also found 11 guns, along with suppressors, magazines and ammo, none of which Benson is allowed to have legally because he is a convicted felon.
They also found military ordinance, both live and spent. They did not get into specifics about what kind of ordinance they discovered.
Benson was booked on the domestic violence aggravated assault charge, being a felon with firearms and drug possession charges.
The investigation is not over and the charges are preliminary.
