Quitman County Bookkeeper Pleads Guilty

QUITMAN, Miss.–The former bookkeeper for Quitman High School has avoided prison time on an embezzlement conviction.
Memory Smith pleaded guilty to one count of embezzlement and got a seven-year suspended sentence and has been ordered to pay a $2,000 fine, said the State Auditor’s office.
Smith was pocketing money from the school activity fund.
