CLEVELAND, Miss. — The Fielding Wright Art Center Gallery at Delta State University will host a solo exhibition featuring Mississippi artist D. Kosmo from Sept. 1 through Sept. 29.

Kosmo is a multidisciplinary visual artist, designer and roots musician based in Lyon, Mississippi. He creates mixed-media assemblages using reclaimed materials collected throughout the Mississippi Delta.

His work incorporates bold colors and dynamic compositions to explore the mythology, culture and spirit of the American South, while highlighting his connection to the region.

Kosmo’s work has received national and international recognition and has been featured in various publications and media outlets. His artwork is held in private collections in the United States and abroad.

His work also appears in permanent installations throughout the South, including all 30 Lost Pizza Co. locations.
Through painting, assemblage, design and public art, Kosmo has developed an artistic style influenced by the history and culture of the Mississippi Delta.

Kosmo and his wife, Jennifer Wilder-Kosmo, are restoring a historic 1918 building in Clarksdale that will become the Delta Social Club, a cultural destination focused on fine art, roots music and community engagement.

The Delta State exhibition will give visitors an opportunity to view Kosmo’s interpretation of the region’s culture, history and character.

The exhibition will be held at the Fielding Wright Art Center Gallery, located at 1003 W. Sunflower Road on the Delta State campus in Cleveland.

Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. The gallery is closed on weekends, university holidays and during semester breaks.
