OXFORD, Miss.–An 89-year-old man is charged with first degree murder in Oxford.
Police said the shooting happened at an apartment on Herman Drive, just before 7 Tuesday morning. When authorities got to the scene Angela James, 53, had been shot and was dying. She was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Herman Slack was arrested and charged with murder.
Police have not discussed a motive publicly. James may have been Slack’s caretaker.
