MOOREHEAD, Miss.–A fire inside the laundry room at a men’s dorm at Mississippi Delta Community College was extinguished partly when sprinklers activated automatically Sunday, said a news release from the college.
The fire was at the Edwards-Stonestreet Men’s Residence Hall.
Moorehead firefighters and firefighters from the Sunflower County Fire South Task responded and “quickly controlled” the fire, said the release.
A campus alert was sent out saying no one was hurt.
The school did not discuss the cause of the fire.
