YAZOO CITY, Miss.–A giant alligator was killed on the first day of gator season.
The 802 lb., 14 ft. gator was killed on the Yazoo River by a group of people called the Gator Getters. It took the team more than an hour to kill the gator. When they did, they couldn’t get it into the boat and had to tie it up and drag it along the side of the craft.
The record for alligators killed in the Mississippi season is 14 ft., three inches.
