GREENVILLE, Miss.–More pay raises have been promised in Greenville and today Mayor Errick Simmons and Fire Chief Reuben Brown are announcing firefighters will get a bump in their base pay.
Last week Simmons and Police Chief Marcus Turner announced a $10,400 base pay raise for police.
Both men said they believed the raises serve partially as a reward for doing tough and risky work, but also as an incentive to keep the officers on the job in Greenville.
An announcement was set for 9 a.m. at City Hall.
