Strong to severe storms are likely for portions of our area this afternoon into the evening. While the primary threat will likely be hail, which could exceed golf ball size in some area, a few tornadoes could be possible. Damaging winds will also be a potential hazard.
All of our area is at some risk for strong to severe storms and generally the further south you go the higher the probability. The highest chances currently appear to be along and south of the I-20 corridor and particularly along and west of the I-55 Corridor.
Storm coverage today may be somewhat scattered and should any individual storm remain isolated, that would tend to increase the risk of severe weather with that storm.
