INDIANOLA, Miss.–An 18 year old woman was shot at the Love’s truck stop on Hwy. 82 early Sunday morning. She was shot in the abdomen and is expected to survive.
The shooting was caught on video, at least partially. Police have seen that video and are using it in their investigation.
Lt. Irish Johnson, with Indianola Police, said the victim was involved in some type of argument with a driver and passenger in another car between 2:30 and 3 a.m., got out and approached the other car, punching the driver.
“The driver or the passenger fired one shot out of the vehicle and hit her in the side after she threw the punch,” said Johnson.
He said the victim was flown to a hospital in Jackson.
Johnson said no arrest had been made as of Sunday evening. But, he believes they will have the person in custody soon.
