LEXINGTON, Miss.–Horses in the highway were the cause of a fatal wreck in Holmes County.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol says Preston Nichelson, 32, of Pickens, died when his Dodge Charger hit the horse as he was driving north on Highway 17, about 11:45 Thursday night.
The Charger flipped when it hit the horses. Nichelson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Highway Patrol released the info this weekend and is still looking into the crash.
