TUSCALOOSA, AL (Ben Caxton) — Less than two weeks after being fired by Ole Miss, Georgia has hired former Rebels coach Matt Luke to oversee its offensive line. Luke will also serve as associate head coach to Kirby Smart, filling a void left by Sam Pittman who left to become Arkansas’ new head coach. The 43-year-old Luke replaced Hugh Freeze at Ole Miss in 2017, inheriting a program slammed by NCAA sanctions after history of coaching the offensive lines at Ole Miss, Duke, Tennessee, and Murray State. Number 5 Georgia will close out the season against number 8 Baylor in the Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day.
