The Mississippi Department of Public Safety (MDPS) is bringing its newly launched full-service mobile driver station to Tunica County on Thursday, May 8, 2025. The station will be set up in the Justice Court parking lot and will operate from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
This mobile unit offers a wide range of services typically found at permanent DPS locations, including driver’s license renewals, new license issuance, and state identification cards. The mobile station is part of MDPS’s ongoing effort to make its services more accessible, especially in rural or underserved areas.
This visit is especially timely due to a significant federal travel requirement going into effect the day before. Beginning May 7, 2025, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will enforce the requirement that all adult U.S. travelers must present a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or another TSA-approved form of identification when boarding domestic flights.
Individuals who do not have a REAL ID or alternative accepted identification may be denied boarding or face delays at security checkpoints. The upcoming mobile station event in Tunica County provides a convenient opportunity for residents to upgrade their ID ahead of future travel.
