NEW YORK, NY (Ben Caxton) — By May 8th the NBA hopes to allow limited, individual player workouts in cities that have been liberated from government coronavirus mandates and restrictions. The league is adjusting its own ban on the use of team practice facilities for player training and treatment. Restrictions include no more than four players in the facility at any one time, no coaches can participate and no group activity like practice or scrimmages are allowed. Memphisâ current shelter-at-home order is set to expire on May 5th but could be extended and Grizzlies President Jason Wexler says the team is reviewing league criteria regarding the potential to re-open team facilities for individual player workouts. The NBA suspended its season after Rudy Gobert of the Utah Jazz tested positive for COVID-19. The first round of the playoffs could have pitted the Grizzlies against the Los Angeles Lakers but thereâs no indication as to when, or if, the NBA will resume play.
