Tunica County, MS  — The Tunica County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a new text message scam that is circulating in the area. The message, which claims that former President Donald Trump has been arrested, includes a link prompting recipients to click for more information.

Authorities are urging individuals not to open the link, as it is part of a phishing scheme designed to steal personal information, including access to bank accounts. The Sheriff’s Office emphasized that this is a fraudulent attempt to compromise users’ financial security.

In a statement, a spokesperson from the Sheriff’s Office said, “If you receive this text, do not click the link. It is a scam, and it could lead to your personal and financial information being exposed.”

Residents are advised to report any such suspicious messages to the Sheriff’s Office and to exercise caution when receiving unsolicited texts with links.
