Two Dead in Tragic Highway 7 Collision in Grenada County

A tragic two-vehicle crash on Highway 7 claimed the lives of two people on Sunday, September 1, 2024. The accident occurred around 3:15 p.m. when a 2023 Subaru Crosstrek, driven by 18-year-old Robert Noah of Jackson, Mississippi, collided head-on with a 2024 Jeep Wagoneer.

The Jeep was driven by 35-year-old Peaches McMurry from Batesville, Mississippi, who was traveling north on Highway 7 when the accident happened. Robert Noah, who was driving south, received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lizzie Tucker, a 74-year-old passenger from Richmond, Texas, riding in the Jeep Wagoneer, also suffered fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene. Peaches McMurry survived the crash, but her current condition is unknown.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine what led to this tragic incident.
