GREENWOOD, Miss.–You can expect a lot of wind today in the Delta. On Election Day, you may get a good soaking.
The National Weather Service says you can expect sustained winds for most of the Delta at about 25 mph today. You’ll also get some wind gusts of up to 35 mph.
That could make it a pain to drive a high-profile vehicle. Those winds could also break small limbs and put those all over the place.
For Election Day Tuesday, you can expect a lot of rain. The Weather Service predicts an 80 percent rain chance, with a high at 79. The Delta has a better chance for rain Tuesday than the central part of the state, for which a 50/50 shot at rain is predicted.
Rain may affect voter turnout.
