OAKLAND, Miss.–When Eric Godfrey, 25, of Jay, Florida, was laying a pipe at a work site Monday in Oakland, in Yalobusha County, a piece of heavy equipment made contact with an overhead power line.
County Coroner Ronnie Stark, said Godfrey was electrocuted and died on the scene.
The work site was along Hwy. 32.
Godfrey was working for a contractor from Florida.
