ARREST MADE IN WAXHAW MURDER CASE

On Sunday, October 24, shortly after midnight, the Bolivar County Sheriffs’s Office received a call of a shooting at Waxhaw Park about six miles north of Rosedale. When deputies arrived on the scene, they found a large gathering in the park. While on the scene, deputies discovered that two black males had been shot. Both suffered from multiple gunshot wounds.

Bolivar County Coroner Rudy Seals pronounced both victims dead at the scene. The victims were identified as Rayshawn Jackson age 21 of Cleveland and Jamarcus Black age 20 of Shaw.

Also, while on the scene the Bolivar County Sheriff’s Office received a call from Bolivar Medical Center about a black male in the ER who had multiple gunshot wounds to his left leg related to the same shooting. The victim was identified as Ricktavious Jackson age 24 of Cleveland.

On Tuesday, October 26 the US Marshals Service and Oxford Police Department arrested Quincy Lewis in Oxford, MS for Murder in connection with the Saturday, October 23 shooting in Waxhaw Park.  Lewis has been charged with murder and two counts of Aggravated Assault.  Quincy Lewis age 21 of Cleveland was taken before a judge where his bond was denied.
