WASHINGTON, DC (Ben Caxton) — This week the Census Bureau is mailing out notices inviting people to participate in the 2020 census after a commercial featuring Morgan Freeman encouraging people to participate in the census directed people to the wrong website. The spot was produced by The Focus Group, a Biloxi-based marketing, and advertising firm. It began running on TV and online earlier this month and showed the Academy-Award winning actor holding a postcard with an incorrect QR Code. The spot has been edited to blur out the QR code.
