ARKABUTLA, Miss.–A lieutenant with Special Operations in the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office has died. A news release from the department says Michael “Tommy” Hissong, 55, of Arkabutla, died July 4, at Baptist Memorial Hospital DeSoto.
No cause of death was given.
“He was a kind man, who loved what he did!! He was so professional and humble, and is missed already,” read the release.
“We had the honor to give him his final ride – Law Enforcement Escort to Pate -Jones Funeral Home. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and host of loved ones he leaves behind.”
Hissong had served as a K-9 handler, a drone specialist and a dispatcher over his years of service.
