GRENADA, Miss.–Fredrick Stokes got a helicopter ride out of Grenada County Saturday. He was being airlifted to a hospital to treat a stab wound to the neck.
Grenada County deputies say they believe that stabbing was perpetrated by Mary Francis Hearn on Ligon Rd., where they were called just after 6 p.m.
When they arrived they found Stokes bleeding from the neck and called an ambulance, which took him to a landing site in Elliot, from which he was flown to a hospital. Meanwhile, Hearn was arrested and charged with attempted murder.
Deputies did not discuss any possible motives for the stabbing.
